TODAY’S GEM
Every month, I get around 50 DMs asking me the same question:
“Do you have a Patreon?”
Today, I finally want to talk about it.
1 – The weird craving…
It’s Monday. 7:30 AM. I’m back in the studio after my summer break, and I feel something I haven’t felt in a long time:
a deep, restless craving to create.
So I start sketching. Again. And again.
All week. Non-stop.
My head is buzzing with new ideas, characters, and stories.
But more than anything, one thought keeps coming back:
I want to show them.
Would they like this design better?
Does this story resonate with them?
Should I share this part of the process?
It’s no longer just about the finished pieces—I want to share what’s behind them.
The ideas. The choices. The messy in-between moments.
The heart of it all.
But every time I try, I hit a wall.
2 – Out of sync
How can I actually invite you into my studio—digitally? Instagram is too fast. Stories disappear. Posts get buried.
Even this newsletter sometimes feels too tight for everything I want to say.
So I spent Saturday thinking:
How can I give you more?
How can I actually bring you into my world?
And then I saw it again—another DM.
“Do you have a Patreon?”
That’s when it hit me. I get this question every single week. And for years, I’ve always said no. But this time… saying no felt completely out of sync with how I feel.
3- Why I’ve always run away from patreon
For those who don’t know: Patreon is a platform where artists like me can share exclusive content with the people who support their work. It’s a direct link between the creator and their community.
No algorithms. No noise. Just us.
But here’s the thing: it takes more than just posting art.
It requires consistency. Commitment. Showing up even when you’re tired or unsure.
It means creating with intention, delivering on time, and building a space that feels alive—month after month.
And for a long time, that scared me.
What if I couldn’t keep up?
What if I burned out?
So I told myself it wasn’t for me.
But let’s be honest—that was just a convenient excuse.
Because deep down, I do want to show up more.
I do want to go deeper.
I do want to connect with my tribe, not just perform for an audience.
Now that my course is closed for the rest of the year, I finally have the space.
To create. To mentor my students…
And to open a door I’ve been avoiding for too long.
So I’m doing it.
I’m launching a Patreon!
And with this newsletter, I’m taking you behind the scenes as I build it.
Welcome to the backstage of my next chapter.
So… I’m doing it
I’m launching a Patreon.
A space to share the process behind my work, exclusive sketches, character’s stories, artists vlogs, painting progress, and maybe even let you collect my work.
This is going to be a magical, private world for those who want to be part of the ride—not just watch from the outside.
But because this space is for you, I want to build it with you.
So let’s start simple:
I really enjoy your style and I can’t wait to learn from you.
