There’s only one week left to join my DTIYS challenge, so I thought I’d take a moment to share a bit more about the character behind it.
When I created the Pathless Deer, I wanted to raise awareness about deforestation and the harsh reality wildlife faces in our forests. So I imagined the Pathless Deer as a guardian—one who still remembers the old ways.
She used to lead her kin through invisible trails—between salt stones, hidden springs, and sacred groves. But now, roads cut through the land, streams are blocked, and those ancient paths are fading.
Her antlers rise like branches. Her eyes have seen centuries. And the marks on her face are maps—guiding her from one sacred place to the next. While her kin wander in confusion, she remains. A memory in motion. A guardian of what still tries to survive.
